Propose of module

The purpose of this module is to develop student research, independent learning and investigative skills and also requires the student to demonstrate an ability to present, analyse and evaluate information in a reflective and critical manner.

Learning Outcome 1: Successfully apply a variety of academic theories relevant to the study.

Learning Outcome 2: Identify, select and use company data relevant and appropriate to the task from a wide range of resources including academic publications; Critically analyse and evaluate data using appropriate theoretical frameworks.

Learning Outcome 3: Use academic conventions appropriately and effectively and reference a range of different types of sources accurately in line with standard conventions.

Learning Outcome 4: Devise and sustain a substantial and coherent written argument based on independent study.

Learning Outcome 5: Design, develop, articulate and lead on a complex project with multiple deliverables, highlighting how to effect sustainable change using an evidence-based approach.

Learning Outcome 6: Review and adapt the project development in the light of peer and professional review, and proactively make allowance for managing uncertainty in shifting circumstances.

The project requires each student to complete a piece of independent, supervised study based around the structure/ criteria shown below. This should complement the student's taught programme (while avoiding duplication) and facilitate a detailed understanding of these business issues. Each individual project is, by definition, a unique piece of work. However, it should be remembered that each project must use a variety of academic theories/ models to discuss and analyse the areas mentioned in Section 7, below.

• Students choose ONE multinational company
• Each student then has to research and discuss TWOaspects out of the THREEareas suggested.
• These TWO core areas should be interlinked(see structure of the project below)in relation to their chosen company. This must be from a worldwide perspective andusing relevant theory as a framework.

c) Why and what considerations should the company consider when trying to create positive social impact(1300 words)

Part 2: Using appropriate theoretical tools, discuss what your company needs to consider to enhance their business(600 words)
Conclusion needs to be linked to earlier critical analysis (400 words)
