Activity 2: The importance of information
Using Porters (2001) model, how has the Internet changed the competitive forces in each of the following examples?
(For example, has it increased or decreased power of suppliers and customers?)
Activity 3: Understanding Wirkkala
Part 1. What data/information do Wirkkala need to collect about their (existing and potential) customer base?
Part 2. How could Wirkkala use this information to support their strategic aim of implementing a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system ?
Activity 4: Discussion in your Team (or in pair)
1. Based on your previous working experience, identify what Information systems your company/organisation have used to support the business.
2. Has your company/organisation chosen the appropriate Information systems to run the business efficiently? If yes, list and describe the reasons; If no, what sort of IS you would recommend in order to support business strategy better.
