Assessment requirements

You will prepare a 2500-word essay (+/-10%) which allows you to demonstrate your knowledge of international health systems and policy, as related to public health.

The essay will assess the unit learning outcomes 1-5

LO1. Critically assess the nature and functioning of health systems and organisations within the context of the ongoing globalisation agenda.

LO2. Critically evaluate why approaches to healthcare funding and organisation vary between different national contexts.

LO3. Critically analyse the pros and cons of government intervention in public health provision.

LO4. Identify and assess the major actors responsible for public health policy at global, national and local levels.

LO5. Advise how different policy measures can improve public health systems internationally, nationally and sub-nationally.

Conclusion: 250 words approx.
Conclude by summarizing future key challenges/opportunities for the health system in addressing the chosen public health issue.
